Between August and October 2012 five porbeagles were tagged off the coast of Donegal. Three of the sharks were tagged with PAT tags, which will release in 9 months time, and two sharks were tagged with both a PAT tag and a SPOT tag. This will enable us to compare the two tag types and also to track these two sharks in near real time. The map above will be updated at least once a week with the real time positions of the two sharks. We need names for our newly tagged sharks so we are having a competition to find the best names.
