Can I submit an abstract for both the oral and poster presentations? Yes, all delegates may submit separate abstracts for both oral and poster presentations and may be awarded both presentation types. However please ensure that the subject matter of each presentation is different.
Can I submit more than one abstract for oral presentations? We ask that delegates do not apply for multiple oral presentations. We would like to give as many people an opportunity to present their work as possible and it is highly unlikely you will be awarded more than one oral presentation.
What happens if I am not awarded an oral presentation? Spaces are limited for the oral presentations. If your application is not successful you will be awarded a poster presentation instead.

When do I pay for the conference dinner? You need to pay for this when you pay for your registration.
Can I bring a guest? Yes, you are welcome to bring a guest to the dinner. The ticket price for a guest is also €40.
I am registering and paying but am unsure about the dinner. Can I pay for the conference dinner at a later date? You need to pay for the conference dinner when paying your registration.
How do I get to the Marine Institute from Salthill/Galway city centre? You will be transported to the Marine Institute and back to the collection point in Salthill/ Galway city centre at the end of the day.
Where should I stay in Galway? There is an abundance of hotels, guest houses, B&Bs and hostels in Galway city. We have listed some options on our ‘Accommodation’ tab. We suggest you stay in Salthill as the welcome reception and conference dinner are being held in Salthill. The arranged coaches for the Marine Institute will collect and return you to Salthill each morning and evening.
When will my place at the conference be confirmed? Your place will only be confirmed when you complete the online registration form and also complete payment through the online paypal system.
Can I register now and pay later? Ideally you should complete registration and payment together. If you register now and attempt to pay after the early registration deadline (31st July) you will be charged a late fee of €40.
Is my place secure if I register but do not pay until a later date? No. Your place is only secure and confirmed upon payment of the relevant fee. Places are limited therefore you should secure you place early.
Is my place secure if I am presenting at the conference? No. You need to complete registration and payment.
