Nearly everyone is familiar with the lesser spotted dogfish and the basking shark and most have probably heard of the Porbeagle and the common skate, but what about the other Irish elasmobranch species. What do you know about the frilled sharks, the electric torpedo ray or even the stingrays? This new section of the website will give you an insight into these and others and give you some information about their occurrence in Irish water.
For a number of years IEG member Declan Quigley has been investigating unusual elasmobranchs in Irish waters and and you may have seen his articles in the Sherkin comment. In case you missed these we will make them available here.
